Summary: Cannot select an email certificate that was already
imported via Control Center->Security->Crypto
Product: kmail
Version: unspecified
Platform: Fedora RPMs
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: NOR
Component: general
AssignedTo: kmail-devel kde org
ReportedBy: jesus.salvo communicator com au
Version: KMail 1.8.1 (using KDE KDE 3.4.1)
Installed from: Fedora RPMs
OS: Linux
First off, I am running a build from the kde-redhat project. There was no option to \
select kde-redhat builds, so I selected Fedora RPMs earlier. kdepim version is \
kdepim-3.4.1-1.3.fc3.kde.
I have a Thawte free email certificate that was exported from Firefox and then \
imported to kde via the kde control center ( Note that kde does not work with the \
certificate generation from the thawte site, so I had to use Firefox ).
Although the certificate has been imported into the control centre -> \
security&privacy -> crypto -> your ceritificates page ... the certificate does not \
appear in kmail. That is, from kontact -> Configure kmail -> <then select one of my \
identities> -> Modify -> cryptography -> s/mime signing certificate ... the list is \
empty.
One thing that I find curious, and possible the reason why the list is empty: From \
within Control centre -> security&privacy -> crypto -> your ceritificates page ... \
even though it shows my free thawte email certificate ( with a Common Name of "Thawte \
Freemail Member" ), the column "Email Address" is blank .. which is probably the \
reason why kmail does not list the certificate ??
I also tried: Control centre -> security&privacy -> crypto -> authentication -> \
Default Certificate -> .. then selected my certificate, which is: "/CN=Thawte \
Freemail Member/emailAddress=xxxxx yyyyy com" \
