Version:           1.8.50 (using KDE 3.4.89 (>= 20050615), compiled sources)

KMail compiled 15 minutes ago crashes for me while checking mail from local account. \
Turning kmail debug in lead to this output:

kmail: processing next mail check for Local Account
kmail: Dict '/var/mail/hasso.index.ids' cannot open with folder /var/mail/hasso: \
                Permission denied (13)
*** KMail got signal 11 (Crashing)

Indeed there is no /var/mail/hasso.index.ids file and KMail can't create it, because \
/var/mail owned by root. For test I created this file, made it owned by user hasso \
and this solved crash. Contents of this file after checking mail is:
