Summary: wish: more than one line per message in message-list, \
if it gets too narrow (e.g. three parallel panes)
Product: kmail
Version: unspecified
Platform: SuSE RPMs
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: wishlist
Priority: NOR
Component: general
AssignedTo: kmail-devel kde org
ReportedBy: sven.burmeister gmx net
Version: (using KDE KDE 3.4.1)
Installed from: SuSE RPMs
OS: Linux
By mistake I set kmail to display the three panes next to eeach other. \
First I thought: nice, more messages in the list and more of the body \
visible. As standard emails are not wider than ~80 letters, kmail did not \
even wrap the lines in the body. Then I thought: Damn, I cannot see the \
From field because the message-list is too narrow to display more than the \
subject.
No matter, whether one likes the view or not, it should be usable. Thus it \
would be very useful, if one could have more than one line for each message \
in the message-list. This way the subject could get one, the sender could \
get one and size, date and attachment could also get one.
Same for the quick-search bar. The text-field gets too small because of the \
status drop-down menu. If they would be put in two lines, this would help a \
lot.
The only thing that really is a pain, would be the sorting, as it would \
look a bit weird, to have the current column-headers one clicks on, without \
any column below them. Yet maybe one could simply have them as "buttons" at \
the top of the list. _______________________________________________
