Summary: unable to copy message files
           Product: kmail
           Version: 1.7.2
          Platform: Debian testing
        OS/Version: Linux
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: NOR
         Component: general
        AssignedTo: kmail-devel kde org
        ReportedBy: johnbat win co nz

Version: 1.7.2 (using KDE KDE 3.3.2)
Installed from: Debian testing/unstable Packages
OS: Linux

I am attempting to transfer my existing kmail message files to a new Kontact \
environment on another HDD by copying twice. The first time $HOME/Mail to another \
HDD. THe second time to $HOME/.kde/share/apps/kmail/mail on the destination HDD.

The result of:
cp -ar /dvd/Mail/* /win/Download/Mail/

is, for example:
cp: cannot create regular file \
`/win/Download/Mail/trash/cur/1114735195.3576.4L8ve:2,S': Invalid argument

I have tried writing to DVD using K3B, but am unable to cp from the DVD to the new \
HDD

Your assistance appreciated
