Summary: sometimes crashes when sending emails
Product: kmail
Version: 1.6.2
Platform: Gentoo Packages
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: crash
Priority: NOR
Component: general
AssignedTo: kmail-devel kde org
ReportedBy: andrea andaka org
Version: 1.6.2 (using KDE KDE 3.3.2)
Installed from: Gentoo Packages
Compiler: gcc3.2.3 gcc (GCC) 3.2.3 20030422 (Gentoo Linux 1.4 3.2.3-r4, \
propolice)
OS: Linux
KMail sometimes crashes when I send an email. "Sometimes" meaning, maybe one out of \
five times. I'm using SMTP-AUTH for three different servers without storing passwords \
in the configuration file, and the crashes happen when KMail is displaying the \
password dialog and I'm about to enter the password. Sometimes, KMail also crashes \
after I've entered a wrong password. This happens with all tree hosts. The IMAP \
processes stay alive. When I kill them and then restart Kontact, the email I wanted \
to send will be in the outbox, and I get a composer window with the contents of the \
email from a few minutes ago (apparently, as the last parts are missing).
I usually use KMail from within Kontact, and in GNOME. I don't remember whether the \
crashes also happen without Kontact or in KDE.
