CFLAGS="-O2 -march=athlon"
Not much of a CFLAGS, right?
So I don't think it makes any sense for the code to crash, because I've
used same CFLAGS to compile everything else in kde3.3 and every other
kde before (I've started compiling kde myself from version 2 onward).
Besides, if a peace of code can't survive with given
CFLAGS/CXXFLAGS/LDFLAGS and insists on using it's own (like stupid
mplayer does) then it's developers are not very friendly, to say the least.
i mean, what if I need to give a pth to includes/libraries outside of
usual locations?
Mplayer is notorious for that, because it offers samba input, but you
can't give it a path to samba includes/libraries in the usual place,
which is /usr/local/samba, and not right in the /usr!
Did somebody recently look at /usr/include on "modern, wel suited
distros" like RedHat/fedora/SuSe/younameit?
It's megabytes of .h files in the bunch of subdirs...almost like zillion
of .dlls in windows/system32...
I don't like it, and will try to put every of my packets in it's own
place, just like kde does, in the first place (everything except qt goes
under /opt/kde, so if you don't like it or wanna change it, you just
wipe out the whole /opt/kde).
