Domain-literals are also in RFC2822 (I didn't search further after I found it in \
RFC822). It is the "domain" part off "addr-spec" that is important here, not the \
"local-part":

addr-spec       =       local-part " " domain
domain          =       dot-atom / domain-literal / obs-domain
domain-literal  =       [CFWS] "[" *([FWS] dcontent) [FWS] "]" [CFWS]
