I can confirm that I have _exactly_ the same bug.

Also as a result of upgrading from mandrake 9.2 to mandrake 10.

I have tried creating a completely new set of ~/Mail, I have checked that the file \
permissions on ~/Mail are set to the correct user. I have also let KMail create a \
completely new configuration file.

KMail will start, looking normal. As soon as I try to either select an email message \
or click on the "new Message" button, KMail crashes. \
