I have the same problem :(

This works perfectly in Evolution 1.2.x and in 1.4.x - except it expects UTF8 \
charset. 1.2.x works if server and client uses a compatible charset.

IMHO Kmail should simply use the client charset as default and just try to ship the \
none-us-ascii characters. An improvement could be to let the user choose which \
charset to convert to, for the server to get it right :) \
