           Summary: Search window in background
           Product: kmail
           Version: 1.6
          Platform: unspecified
        OS/Version: Linux
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: wishlist
          Priority: NOR
         Component: general
        AssignedTo: kmail-devel kde org
        ReportedBy: giovanni communicationvalley it

Version: 1.6 (using KDE 3.2.0, Gentoo)
Compiler: gcc version 3.3.2 20031218 (Gentoo Linux 3.3.2-r5, \
                propolice-3.3-7)
OS: Linux (i686) release 2.4.23-ck1

In KDE 3.1.x the search window could be put in the background of KMail, letting you \
continue any work in KMail as the search went on. This was especially handy since you \
could double-click one of the results of the search and look at it in KMail without \
closing the search window itself. For whatever reason, the search window in KDE 3.2 \
is now always in front of KMail and necer releases the focus, so you can't do \
anything until you close it, unless you have a big enough screen (and small enough \
fonts) to put them side by side. Please restore the old behaviour; I can't see a \
reason for this awkward new way of working.
