First I wanted to explain also to you, that here is the same problem as with
Ingo's statement: if Reply-To-Sender always reply to sender, as you've stated
this means Reply-To is always ignored. But of course, it's ignored only if
the all the below is true:
- - List-Post == Reply-To
- - mail is not in a Mailing List folder or mail is in a Mailing List folder and
the Post Address specified there is the same as the Reply To (or List-Post?)

Right? This breaks again consistency, if we talk about it. If the user does
not specify the Post Address, or it is different than the List-Post (think
about @kde.org/@mail.kde.org), the Reply-To-Sender will not send the mail to
sender, but to the mailing list.
So you fixed the consistency at one place, but it's broken in another place.
Right now I don't ask to fix this, as this is what I use to make the 'r' work
as reply to mailing list, I just wanted to point you out. :-)

Your mail and idea makes surely sense. The issues you brought up are also
correct.
For me the logical way is to have a conext sensitive reply. This would reply
to a list if the mail is in a Mailing List folder, and reply to sender if
it's not. We can get rid of Reply To List this way. As you have suggested we
may even introduce a shortcut for Reply To Sender (like "R") which works as
"r" now. So in the end we will have:
1. Reply ("r") : replies to sender or list, depending on what kind of folder
the message is
2. Reply To Sender ("R"): replies always to sender

This keeps happy the user acustomed to the old behavior, doesn't throw away
the new behavior and it even has some logic behind. Does it make sense for
you?

Andras

PS: Yes, after re-reading your mail, it's basicly what you have suggested in
another form...
