Yes, I can understand this although I never used 'r' for this.

No, it's a hack to make mailing lists work with dumb email clients like=20
Outlook Express which don't provide a Reply to Mailing-list. KMail OTOH=20
has a Reply to Mailing-list action (since KDE 2.1 I might add).

But this only works for mailing-list which set the Reply-to header. But=20
I guess nowadays almost all mailing-list have adopted this bad habit.
