This is probably slightly duplicate with bug 16560, but keeping kmail in accordance with KISS principle, why not to add command line option --smtp-server which would either give exact parameters of the desired server (e.g., --smtp-server smtp.myisp.com:456) or it would be name of the SMTP-profile in settings (which should be separate from other profiles, because usually one needs to switch SMTP server while using still the same IMAP/POP3 server; e.g., something like --smtp-server ISPServer).

What about this?
