But then the user would no longer have the possibility not to add a new 
entry silently once he selected silent adding of new entries.

It's impossible to provide just one option and at the same time keeping 
the current functionality which is:
a) Open an existing or a new email address in the address book.
b) Add a new address silently to the address book.
