You would have more chances if you would look in the mailing list relevant to 
kmail (kde-pim?) (list data: http://www.kde.org/mailinglists archive: 
http://lists.kde.org ) and if the answer has not been already given there, 
you should post your question there. Unfortunately, it is well known that 
kmail developers do *not* read this mailing list.
