Maybe you entered an incomplete filter that was automatically removed 
when you closed the filter configuration dialog. Please check that the 
filter is still there if you re-open the pop filter config dialog 
without restarting KMail.

Does the pop filter actually work after setting it up?

Please update to KDE 3.1.3 and check whether you can reproduce this 
problem with this version of KMail.
