Summary: folders with unread messages are sorted to the bottom
           Product: kmail
           Version: unspecified
          Platform: Debian stable
        OS/Version: Linux
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: wishlist
          Priority: NOR
         Component: general
        AssignedTo: kmail@kde.org
        ReportedBy: a.d.parkins@liv.ac.uk

Version: (using KDE KDE 3.1.3)
Installed from: Debian stable Packages

In kmail 1.5.2 folders with unread messages were highlighted in bold; this was \
excellent. Now - in kmail 1.5.3 they are highlighted in bold and sorted to the bottom \
of their containing node. I personally find this irritating, and feel that this \
feature should be removed or made optional.

I would argue that it is not necessary because the highlighting of the folder is \
already sufficient indication that there are new messages. Also, rearranging lists \
is generally considered a UI no-no because it breaks our positional memory for the \
items. Further, if you have a large mail tree (as I do), every time you get a new \
mail your inbox jumps from the top of the folder list to the bottom; essentially \
meaning it is never where I think it is.

Thanks for listening.
