Hi,

on the KMail website ( http://kmail.kde.org/tools.html ) you can find a tool 
"uniqmail". IMO this one should be labeled with a hint that it should be 
used having mbox folders only. (BTW, I also doubt that within the script 
the grep for "< Message-Id:" will work as expected.)

The tool can finally get removed when KDE 3.2 is out, as the new KMail has 
this feature built in.
