Unfortunately it seems to be flaky. Since I wrote the mail you quote, I 
have had threading enabled, and mostly it works exactly like I would like 
it to (thanks :), but it occasionally reverts to the old problem where I 
suddenly find myself way down in the list of unread mails.

I will keep an eye on this and try to find out some pattern on when it 
happens. Until I do so, I don't think it's going to be easy for me to 
give you anything more concrete than the "I don't think it's completely 
done yet" message :-(
