Summary: kmail deleted all my mail folders!!! (Interaction with
kpilot)
Product: kmail
Version: 1.5.2
Platform: unspecified
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: NOR
Component: general
AssignedTo: kmail@kde.org
ReportedBy: dirk@santafe.edu
Version: 1.5.2 (using KDE 3.1.2)
Installed from: (testing/unstable)
Compiler: gcc version 3.3 (Debian)
OS: Linux (i686) release 2.4.20-3-686
I know I shouldn't have tried to use the kpilot sync mail condunit...
The following is not (just) a kpilot bug:
I used the kpilot POP Mail condunit. I configured it to send mail using kmail, left \
e-mail address $USER, and Firewall $MAILDOMAIN. I wrote a short test message on my \
pilot, and synced. In kmail, a new folder appeared, above the inbox, without any \
folder name. That folder had a single message - my test message. From was $USER. I \
then told kmail to delete that folder (containing only a single message). kmail \
instead deleted all folders in my Mail directory, and the Mail directory itself, \
freeing up ~400MB of disk space.
Good I had a backup!
