I'm sorry to be blunt, but this is a bug tracking system, not a help forum. Unless you 
tell us there's a bug somewhere in KMail, we can't accept your problem. I am using 
KMail on XFree86 4.3 and I can see e-mail contents fine. 
 
Try changing the colours, like you have, or changing the profiles. Other than that, 
try asking in a KMail-related help forum.
