           Summary: The identity default setting appears to be used only
                    when creating a folder.
           Product: kmail
           Version: 1.5
          Platform: Mandrake RPMs
        OS/Version: Linux
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: NOR
         Component: general
        AssignedTo: kmail@kde.org
        ReportedBy: chmod@ehuffy.com

Version:           1.5 (using KDE 3.1.0)
Installed from: Mandrake Linux Cooker i586 - Cooker
Compiler: gcc version 3.2.2 (Mandrake Linux 9.1 3.2.2-3mdk)
OS:          Linux (i686) release 2.4.21-0.13mdk

Hello,
First, let me say that kmail rocks!

Now on to a small bug (i think):

The expected behaviour is that inbox (and other folders with un-specified identities) \
would be from the default identity, and that you could change which identity is \
default whenever you wanted.

It seems, though, that folders get set to a particular identity upon creation, \
regardless of later changes in which is default. This includes the inbox.

Here is the relevant part of the mailrc file. It appears that when i changed \
identity "huff" to default, it set the default identity to 1899710716, but left the \
inbox at 0.

[Folder-inbox]
Identity=0

[General]
Default Identity=1899710716

[Identity #0]
Identity=huff
uoid=1899710716

[Identity #1]
Identity=chmod
uoid=0

When i changed the kmailrc file as follows:

[Folder-inbox]
Identity=1899710716

The inbox now uses the identity i want.

This works for me, since i rarely change which identity is default, and being able to \
hard-define inbox is fine with me. Until i figured it out, i had to make a diff \
"inbox2" to use the right id, because the 1st one i defined (which is the 1st one \
inbox got hold of) is not my default.

I hope i explained this well enough.

Tanks!
huff
