I check my mail in kmail with pop3s.
I get the dialog to accept or not the certificate.
I select "forever"

Then I go in kcontrol / crypto / peer ssl certificates
and check that my certificate is marked
"cache permanently" and "accept".

I go in kmail and check my mail again.
No need to accept the certificate since it is
cached and permanently accepted

I go in kcontrol / crypto / peer ssl certificates.
Surprise. My certificate is no longer cached forever
but only for a few hours.

Hope it helps...
