The last line of an outgoing message is getting chopped (completely removed from the message) if it does not end with a newline.  I frequently type a quick signature (e.g. "- John") at the end of my messages without pressing Enter, which means I've probably been sending out signature-less messages for a long time...  I finally noticed that this was happening today when I saw the entire last line was missing from a message I sent to a mailing list (in this case I provided no signature at all, and neglected to press Enter at the end of the last line).
