While KMail seems to observe .mailboxlist on the IMAP server, it has no graphical frontend with which the user can subscribe to new IMAP folders.

This is a requisite feature for IMAP users who have no console or other access to their IMAP server. Currently the only means of subscribing to an IMAP folder is to launch another client such as Mozilla Mail & News, and use it to subscribe.
