------- I just entered a similar "wishlist" request [was going to be a \
"bug" because the behaviour had  changed from one version to the next, with \
no way to say what *I* wanted as default] -- since I  now see this is a \
duplicate, I've closed it [#53710] and added a vote for this one   
I'll also add another bullet-point to the above list of "reasons why I like \
inline:"   
- I sometimes forward items from one "e-mail list" to another; as most \
lists nowadays have  unsubscribe links automatically appended, I want to \
remove the "incorrect" link from the source  of the message before \
                forwarding it 
- [likewise] I usually trim some of the "header" information [usually from \
"outlook" posts with 4-line  headers...] (and sometimes I'll even \
trim/reformat things if this is a multi-forwarded item that has  gotten \
into a severely word-wrapped mess) \
