I was going to file a wishlist bug about this, but he beat me to it :-)
Basically, having the KPassivePopup appear in the upper-left hand corner
means that you can't click on the File/Edit menus of whatever app you're
now in.  And on my computer, it takes over five seconds (each time) for
the compaction/expiry to complete.  It would be nice for it to appear
somewhere else, and I guess right above the kicker panel is as good a
place as any :-)
