I can confirm this on normal debian XFree, too.
Interesting thing: I have german gui language, and when i close kmail and the 
message is shown in german, everything is fine. 
but when language changed to english (remember, under some circumstances kmail 
gui locale changes) and the dialog shows up in english, then i see exactly 
what you can see on the screenshot.
