And that's the point. > It need not be totally stable as it's a devel version but it should be > stable enough so that you can use most the functionality. yes, there is a happy medium, and that happy medium was discovered and described in long discussions that have already been had on this list, namely: large arch changes go into a branch for testing and are merged in once proven to be complete and not completely broken. large and/or complex patches should be peer reviewed, preferably on-list. in the end, it's Ingo's call if there is doubt. there's no need to rehash this. doing so won't help the process and only extends the unecessary conflict that has been going on for some months now. Ingo has spoken his bit and will take action as he sees fit to figure this all out. meanwhile, HEAD seems to be approaching a state in which i can trust it enough to start hacking on it again.
