did you notice that your backtrace mentions QT-2.3.1 ?
You propably have an old kmail binary lying around from a old kde 2 
installation? or maybe you have some trouble with your environment variables. 

"echo $QTDIR" should point to QT3.x.
"find / -name kmail -print" should find any kmail binaries.
