Hi Eva,

This looks like a 'typical' KMail IMAP crash.

Unfortunately KMails IMAP implementation is somewhat unstable 
especially on slower IMAP servers.

Now I do hope to revise KMail's IMAP code but this is a major 
undertaking.

What would encourage me to do that work is if you could file a general 
IMAP is unstable bug report collect as much specific information as 
possible (like the info you have provided below it is valuable), vote 
this bug up on bugs.kde.org and encourage others to do so also. (The 
more votes the higher precedence I give the task).

This would tie in with my future voteawish.org hopes.
