Summary: Kmail imap folder read error
           Product: kmail
           Version: 1.4.3
          Platform: unspecified
        OS/Version: Linux
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: NOR
         Component: general
        AssignedTo: kmail@kde.org
        ReportedBy: kickus@kickus.sby.abo.fi

Version: 1.4.3 (using KDE 3.0.4)
Installed from: (testing/unstable)
Compiler: gcc version 2.95.4 20011002 (Debian prerelease)
OS: Linux (i686) release 2.4.19

I use kmail on two computers at the same time, both using the same imap account. When \
I try to read a folder, which the other kmail client has opened, kmail gives:

"Error. Could not read file imaps://<-myusername->@<-myimapserver->:993;UID=1"

I read about the similar problem with Netscape at \
http://www.jguru.com/faq/view.jsp?EID=325998

It seems that both kmail clients tries to open the folder in READ_WRITE mode.
Could it be possible to open the second in READ_ONLY mode, and avoid the error \
message? When using the intervall checking, it could maybe retry to open it in \
READ_WRITE mode?

Anyway it's a very nice mailreader!

(Using kmail (as debian kde 3.0.4-1 package) version: 1.4.3)
