That depends on the degree of your paranoia. KMail can remember the pgp 
passphrase for you (in memory). Alternatively it could simply keep the 
decrypted POP and SMTP passwords in memory.

Well, all KMail related bugs are sent to the KMail mailing-list. And one 
can easily search all new KMail bugs with the Bugzilla based bug report 
system.
