You are absolutely right! _Because_ this is no monarchy but a Free Software project we do not have a 'king' but just a so-called 'maintainer' of the project. Michael H=E4ckel does this job since a while and IMO he does it very well. We do not see the slightest reason for asking him to stop maintaining KMail and therefor we act in a both _normal_ and _fair_ way: respecting his opinion and his *right* to make final decisions. This right does not come from heaven but from the understanding that it is a good idea to have a maintainer and to let him supervise and kind of organize the development of the KMail. So - to answer your question: The 'official HEAD branch' is the one declared HEAD by the maintainer of the project. There is no magic about that. :-) Karl-Heinz =2D----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.1.91 (GNU/Linux) iD8DBQE9fkaACcaVnbvggDcRAjQEAKDE0UpC1ZS174mluiPICgJW3gqhzACgwfSc NvyoN9nHPimUvugGsEJ6W78=3D =3DAi0y =2D----END PGP SIGNATURE----- _______________________________________________ KMail Developers mailing list kmail@mail.kde.org http://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/kmail
