Then make ktnef Installation idiot-proof. This has nothing to do with KMail.

This is not true. You can have several different versions of KDE installed at 
the same time.

Besides that tnef is a _very_ rarely used feature and not a standard we can't 
simply put unmaintained software in the main distribution. We just can have 
"plugin" support for something like that. And that is already possible with 
KTnef.

I guess you have bad luck here. Besides that I anyway don't have access to an 
Exchange server, therefore I anyway can't help out with that.
