Does your > observation hold for small files? Yes, I only tested this with a folder containing only five test=20 messages. The mtime of the mbox file was always correct. I will check=20 if the mbox file and the index file are written differently. There must=20 be a reason why it works for the mbox files but not for the index=20 files.
