From: joerg.engelhart@gmx.net

Package: kmail
Version: 1.2 (using KDE 2.1.2 )
Severity: wishlist
Installed from: SuSE
Compiler: gcc version 2.95.3 20010315 (SuSE)
OS: Linux 2.4.3 i686
OS/Compiler notes:

starting with a big thank for an already great mailer of a great gui of a great os of \
a great community!!!! Cheers! some ideas for the near future :-) :
- folder annotation: especially for commercial use, it is very useful to be able to \
annotate a short text within the properties dialog of the folders. By this you could \
note where you know this person from, if this customer paid its bill \
                ... just simple
- attachment deletion: dont repeat Netscapes disability to remove attachments from \
received messages. Being able to delete them without hassle greatly saves space (M$ \
                Outlook has such a feature)
- folder drag: aah yet another interestee ...
- dcop extension: I would like to do two things
1. access the kmail mail database from an outside program ( archiving, auto answer \
...) 2. use a db like mysql to log and process mails and extract informations \
automatically (customer billing, mailing). If there would be a command hook for each \
significant kmail mail manipulation (move mail to folder, reply ...) I could hang in \
a small perl script which is connecting to the mysql server.
- outgoing optional to inbox: I personally dont like to have seperate Inbox and Sent \
folders. You have to keep up with two folders all the time - what hassle :-) . Rather \
(by the way as in Outlook) the filter rules should apply also to the outbox being \
able to move the replies directly there where they would belong to anyway (you could \
even think of an automatic filter moving the reply into the same folder as the \
replied message! by the way, I wanted to get rid of the sent folder by creating a \
link to the inbox. It didnt work out!

thx for the great job so far!!
cheers, Jörg
