This bug seems to be fixed in the latest development (CVS)
version of KDE though nobody stepped forward saying "I did it!" ;-).
The bug report will be closed.

I designated a special folder as trash folder for my imap account. However, from time \
to  time, deleted mails appear in the trash folder marked as unread or new. However, \
it is only a small amount of the deleted mails.
