Yes, I tried disabling AA and KMail does not freeze anymore.
I am using XFree4.2 (self-compiled), so this bug has apparently not been 
fixed yet.

So it's exactly as I suspected. KMail is perfect, errors are always 
elsewhere. :-))))) I just love KMail.
