From: mmh@gmx.net
X-KDE-Received: -134.155.89.223

Package: kmail
Version:           1.3.99 (using KDE 2.9.0 3 (CVS >= 20020213))
Severity: wishlist
Installed from: SuSE
Compiler: gcc version 2.95.3 20010315 (SuSE)
OS: Linux (i686) release 2.4.16-4GB
OS/Compiler notes:

kmail does not implement the openpgpg mime standard which allows COMPLETE \
encryption/or signature of emails.

This shows in two things:
1) atttachments are not encrypted nor signed, which is often the most valuable data \
in a message

2) Emails signed by mutt are shown as no-PGP messages, which is completely wrong.

Therefore I propose to think about implementing openpgp/mime encryption and \
signatures.

Citing ietf-draft2440:
"An application that implements OpenPGP for
   messaging SHOULD implement OpenPGP-MIME."

For details on muas that have PGP/MIME see this:
http://www.linuxdoc.org/HOWTO/Mutt-GnuPG-PGP-HOWTO-9.html
http://www.cryptorights.org/pgp-users/pgp-mail-clients.html

PGP/MIME is an IETF-RFC: http://www.ietf.org/rfc/rfc3156.txt
