Because kmailrc is only one file. I realize that the kmail directory is = only=20 one directory, and one accident can kill that as easy to kill one file. =20 However, applications generally open one file at a time for writing (like= =20 kmail could for kmailrc or the kmail-filters file) instead of opening a=20 directory inode. We are all very close to an application which opens and edits the kmailrc= file=20 a lot.
