There is no bug in KMail but a misunderstanding on your side.

The messages are signed with your key and not with one of your three 
uids.
KMail indeed only shows the primary uid (because listing all uids would 
be too long) if you check the message. But this doesn't mean that the 
message was signed with this uid. It just means that the message was 
signed with the key to which this uid belongs. And this key is the same 
for all your uids.

The configuration of the signing key has been changed in KDE 3.0. Now 
you select a key and no longer have to enter a user id.

Im using kmail with several identities.
i have one gpg key with 3 uids
for each identity i have specified the respective pgp uid name

but when i encrypt/sign messages, kmail always sings it with the alphabetically first \
uid for the key, not the one i specified for the identity im using
