Hi all,

I have a problem with folder compaction not working.  I am using KMail 1.3 
and compaction appears not to work on most folders.  I _have_ followed the 
advice on kmail.kde.org about setting Consistent=true in my kmailrc.

I thought I would delete my .index files and let them rebuild from scratch as 
they could have been corrupt.  However on restarting KMail, the only messages 
visible in the rebuilt .index files were the (legacy) Netscape messages from 
when I migrated to KMail a couple of months ago.

Can anyone shed some light on why the index files are not being generated 
properly?  I did manage to restore them from backup, however this indicates 
to me that something in my mail folders is seriously wrong.

Any advice greatly appreciated, I can give more detail if necessary...
