Don't send him an email about the status of kmail, that's not what he asked 
for.  Send him a Mandrake 8.0 binary of it.  I fear that some of the features 
he wanted are only in CVS, so doing so would be pretty difficult with 
Mandrake not running CVS kde code.  Could you make a statically linked kmail?
