I'm quite sure it works also  with KDE 2.2.1. You should make sure to use 
the latest Qt 2.x (I think that's 2.3.1).

When the mouse pointer is hovering over the message selection area, the wheel on the \
mouse should scroll that (without actually moving the cursor (to allow for finding \
the appropriate item, group of messages, or whatever)), when it is over the message \
contents, it should scroll that, and when it it is over the folder list, it should \
scroll that (without actually moving the cursor (to allow for finding the appropriate \
item, section, or whatever)).
