It seems, that it already works with my current version (KDE v2.2.0).

  characters disappear, your gets garbagled)

Did anybody say that?
We just don't need more than one outstanding report per problem.

Anyway, if someone would come up with a good idea, how to fix that...

Severity: normal
Installed from:    Mandrake RPMs
Compiler:          Not Specified
OS:                Linux

When I load mplayer.sourceforge.net in konqueror, kded crashes with the message:

In file tools/qgarray.cpp, line 125: Out of memory
KCrash: crashing.... crashRecursionCounter = 2

This is similar, I suspect, to a bug that's already been reported about loading \
apps.kde.com, however I am able to load that site without any trouble.

I am using X-Planet as Desktop Background which results in changing brightness of the \
area behind my Desktop Icons during the day.

In order to ensure readability I have set the text Background color to Black which \
does the trick.

However IMHO the desktop would look much nicer if it was possble to have a \
transperent background e.g. a grey text background with the picture still shimmering \
through.

The backtrace gives no information (which is normal for RPMs), so I need
more information. When does it crash on exit (all documents ? only some ? after
doing something special ?) ? What kind of object frames ? Please be as specific
as possible, thanks.

Well, experience so far as I have already answered lots of reports about this
problem.
This has been reported to the XFree86 team already some time before 4.1. AFAIR
someone even wrote a xlib only application that demonstated the problem, but
in 4.1 it seems to be still there.

The problem is, that I myself can't reproduce it, so I can't really ask the X
people myself, what's up. I'm using the mach64 driver.
Just after 5000 characters in an line edit field all characters before the
cursor become invisible, but it does neither crash nor freeze.

If you want to do something about it, first find out, if it really doesn't
freeze with anti aliasing disabled (can be done in KControl). I can't say for
sure that no different problem has the same symptom of course.
If it is gone with that you can report the problem to the X developers.
"killall -6 kmail" when it's frozen should also pop up a crashmanager that
shown some information.

Regards,
Michael Häckel

JS code:
        emailWindow = \
window.open("","subwindow","HEIGHT=500,WIDTH=600,resizable=yes")  \
emailWindow.document.write(output)  emailWindow.document.close()

Result:
khtml (jscript): Window::get emailWindow
khtml (jscript): Window::get document
KJS: Type error. Null value
KJS: Failed function call attempt on: undefined : Undefined (0x87815c8), line 0
KJS: Was property 'write'

In short, the document of a blank KHTML part can't be accessed. This looks very
much like the "about:blank" problem I was trying to help with.
Dirk ? It seems there no "document" element in an empty KHTML.
Can we, hmm, create it on demand ?
