Hmm, gdb says: "not in executable format: File format not recognized". But I
run that file...
But apart from that I managed to get a backtrace (rather short one):

0x41122279 in wait4 () from /lib/libc.so.6
#0  0x41122279 in wait4 () from /lib/libc.so.6
#1  0x41190388 in __DTOR_END__ () from /lib/libc.so.6
#2  0x409059b5 in KCrash::defaultCrashHandler ()
   from /opt/kde2//lib/libkdecore.so.3
#3  <signal handler called>

The last message from kmail on STDOUT:

kmail: KMScoringManager::globalScoringManager()->save();
*** KMail got signal 11 (Crashing)

That is interesting:I don't get a crash if I click on "Aply" but on "OK". So
it's obviously a problem in another tab which gets saved. But I don't have
anything in the Scoring-Tab...
But apart from that: after tons of crashes, trying to find out what the
problem was, I can't reproduce the crash anymore. I think it was any entrance
it the config-file that is now gone. Sorry....

No.
I tried the SuSE rpm's and now (for the backtrace) a self-compiled version.
