Hi,
i've tried to put 2 subfigures in a picture float and press
the checkbox for subfigures und type a label for the subfigures.
If I klick on both pictures again, klyx has disactivated the
'subfigure'-checkbox, so in dvi there is no subfigure at all.

It works in lyx-1.0.1, if you insert your subfigures there
and reimport the document to klyx-0.9.9, all is interpreted 
correctly by klyx.
