The degree sign in LyX and kLyX is produced as follows (I remember,
having done it VERY often!):
- enter math mode by Ctrl-M
- enter the number of degrees (which thus ends up inside the math box,
a good practice for all math materials)
- type the "hat" symbol ^ for superscript mode; you're on your own there
  with your Danish keyboard
- type \circ i.e. backslash cee eye arr cee. The text "circ" should appear
in red, so-called "LaTeX Red". It produces a little circle.

Remember the math editor is integrated with LyX, no separate application,
and there is no OS overhead even for embedding thousands of formulas.

Hope this helps

Martin
