Just a question ? Why do you want to insert metadata at the beginning of the
file ? If you add this bunch of data at the end of the file, that's works
perfectlty .... And to discover the size of the metadata (in case of not fixed
size), just add two bytes at the end of the file.

# cat ../test.gif >> klik.iso
# ./src/fuseiso -n klik.iso mnt -o allow_root -d
etc ...

I think that could work for fusecram too.
